Soudal has a total of more than 12,000 SKUs and sells its products in 138 countries worldwide. This global dimension and the large number of products and (packaging and language) variants mean a huge amount of product information, which is now brought together in a clear and easily navigable manner. Luc Thys, Group Director Marketing and R&D at Soudal: “Given the exponential growth that we have been experiencing for some years, both in terms of countries and products, it used to be impossible to make everything available online in all languages. Our website used to be available in only ten languages. The new website is fully integrated with the Soudal SAP system to ensure that all possible information on colors, packaging, technical data sheets, pack shots, etc. is available with a simple click of the mouse.”
Professional users and customers can log in, after which they can download all the information for their customers. End users of the DIY section can easily find additional information on the use and areas of application. Luc Thys: “Every day, we receive questions from DIY-ers about our products. What should be used where, and how? We now have a large number of handy videos available online especially for them, which explain how to use the products.”
For the time being, www.soudal.com will only be available in the two languages of Soudal's home country Belgium, i.e. Dutch and French. However, over the next 24 months, some 30 additional languages will be added.
