CLASSEN Group publishes CERAMIN Environmental Product Declaration (EPD)

The CLASSEN Group, leading manufacturer of laminate flooring and PVC-free, recyclable polymer flooring, is proud to announce the publication of the CERAMIN Environmental Product Declaration (EPD).

With their quantitative statements on the environmental performance of building products, EPDs are aimed at many addressees who are involved in the value chain from the raw materials to the building through production and services.

Ceramin products not only fulfil expectations in terms of quality and aesthetics, but also set a new benchmark in terms of ecological responsibility. Customers can rest assured that with CERAMIN they are not only purchasing a high-quality floor covering, but also making a contribution to environmental protection. Especially notable are the impressive results that CERAMIN achieves by being PVC-free and using recycled material. The use of recycled material in production is an important key factor contributing to this positive result.

With CERAMIN, CLASSEN has developed a material that consists largely of recycled plastics and is 100 per cent recyclable. CLASSEN consciously avoids the use of chlorine, PVC and plasticisers for the healthy living CERAMIN wall and floor coverings and instead relies on the plastic polypropylene (PP).

The key features of CERAMIN at a glance:

1. PVC-Free: CERAMIN does not use PVC, chlorine or plasticisers, which not only reduces the environmental impact but also contributes to a healthier indoor climate.

2. Reduced CO2 footprint: By using recycled material in production, CERAMIN minimises its CO2 footprint significantly. This is a major step towards sustainability and environmental protection and is monitored by an external certifier.

3. Recyclability: Thanks to the use of polypropylene (PP) plastic, CERAMIN is 100% recyclable.

In addition to the EPD, CERAMIN's wide range of certifications also includes well-known labels such as the Blue Angel, the eco-Institut label and the RecyClass Recycled Plastic certificate. These accreditations confirm CERAMIN's sustainable properties in terms of materials and production, which are an integral part of the CLASSEN Group's corporate philosophy.

About EPD
The Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) is a key tool for providing transparent and comparable information on the environmental impact of products. It provides customers, architects and other stakeholders with a clear insight into the environmental footprint of a product. The EPD enables an informed decision to be made based on environmentally relevant facts.
